A rare as-yet-untranslated Green Guide. Coverage as ever is reliable, informed, selective, and arranged alphabetically by region. Colour maps and photographs abound. Needless to say the usefulness of the book depends entirely on one's proficiency in the language.
Comprehensive all-round practical travel guide that also boasts plenty of insight into local history and culture. Includes detailed notes and maps on the GR20 trail and illustrated sections on 'Traditional' and 'Wild' Corsica. Recommendations cover all budgets with a bias towards the lower end.
Beautifully presented sightseeing companion crammed with colour photographs and illustrations supported by succint, well-written text. The 'Survival Guide' at the back covers more practical concerns such as where to stay and eat.
Now in its fifth edition this indispendable little guide offers tours and walks ranging from picnic strolls to steep day-long hikes. Each route is well annotated and mapped, with plenty of photographs to keep you on the right track. Written with great enthusiasm, it contains something for everyone.
Sketch maps, route profiles, detailed notes, information on what to carry, alternative routes: the GR20, one of the world's most challenging and spectacular adventure treks, should not be attempted without this compact but comprehensive companion.
The four cities become somewhat jumbled in this series of lists covering, among other things, galleries, beers and chocolatiers. The recommendations are spot on however and the pull-out map most useful.
