- A bestselling guide with six major road trips including one border to border and the Appalachian Trail. Contains recommendations for restaurants and hotel listings and plenty of historical information and local trivia. The only downside is that it is a surprisingly heavy book for your backpack!

The hotel and restaurant listings are slim though so we would advise taking a more practical guide along with this with one.
