-
Botswana and Namibia by Lonely Planet
- Price: £16.99 Add to Basket
- The only combined guide to both Botswana and Namibia so useful as a space saver, although less reliable and less detailed than the Footprint and Bradt Guides.

- Solid guide for budget independent travel, with reliable practical detail presented in an informal tone.

-
Rajasthan, Delhi & Agra by Lonely Planet
- Price: £15.99 Add to Basket
- The Lonely Planet guides are particularly good in India and Southeast Asia, but this one is a little less detailed than the Rough Guide equivalent.
-
Pakistan & the Karakoram Highway by Lonely Planet
- Price: £15.99 Add to Basket
- Probably a good guide to support the lack of practical information in the Insight equivalent. Includes approximately 100 pages on the Karakoram Highway and a section on trekking.
-
Sri Lanka by Lonely Planet
- Price: £15.99 Add to Basket
- One of the more detailed guides from Lonely Planet, with good information for independent travel in the south of the island. However, this guide is weaker on the north and there are some inaccuracies with their travel information.

- A practical guide to the highlights of the country, best for a budget visit. It's full of photographs with good introductory chapters too, plus a handy pull-out map.
-
Beijing by Lonely Planet
- Price: £12.99 Add to Basket
- Practical guide for the budget traveller, useful for travel logistics and hotel listings. Night-life and restaurant recommendations do not compete with the Time Out equivalent, however, it focuses too heavily on the mainstream tourist destinations and the maps are fairly weak.
-
Shanghai by Lonely Planet
- Price: £13.99 Add to Basket
- What the Lonely Planet lacks in background information and individuality, it makes up for with its hotel listings, easy-to-use format and travel logistics. For the budget traveller keen to get about the city with ease.
