The Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction 2016 has been won by Lisa McInerney for her debut novel, The Glorious Heresies. Set in post-financial The Glorious Heresiescrash Ireland, the novel, described by The Times as ‘fiendlishly hilarious’, beat Booker winner Anne Enright and Hanya Yanagihara to the prize. The book is  a gritty and darkly comic novel about a murder amongst a cast of alcoholics and misfits.
