We are looking for a mix of booksellers, part-time (3 full days a week) and full time (5 full days a week), plus an extra person during weekends, for our new shop on Banbury Road opening at the start of 2020. Previous experience in bookselling is helpful but not essential; a good knowledge of customer service makes for a stronger candidate.
The daily requirements to look after a smooth running shop include unpacking deliveries, shelving, curating shelves and tables, creating inspiring window displays, dealing with accounts, but above all looking after customers, greeting them warmly and chatting enthusiastically about books. We plan to offer an exciting events programme led by the staff. We celebrate teams who support and learn from one another, sharing duties so that everyone can develop a deeper understanding of bookselling in all areas.
