William Morris’s younger daughter May Morris (1862-1938) was one of the leading figures of the Arts and Crafts Movement and a key exponent of art embroidery, which elevated needlework from a domestic craft to a serious art form. Local textile historian and author Dr Lynn Hulse explores the life and work of this pioneering British designer, craftswoman, scholar and teacher, whose achievements continue to inspire today. Lynn will be giving an illustrated talk.
