Natalia Ginzburg was born in 1916 to a Jewish father and Catholic mother and grew up surrounded by radicals and free thinkers who at the outbreak of war became passionate defenders of free speech and liberalism. Daunt Books has been proud to publish her best-known novel Family Lexicon, first published in 1963, her collection of essays The Little Virtues and now her novel Voices in the Evening.
We are delighted to welcome award-winning novelists Tessa Hadley and Lara Feigel to discuss Natalia’s writing. Tessa’s most recent novel, Late in the Day, has just been published to rave reviews whilst Lara’s memoir Free Woman is just out in paperback.
Please note that we were previously hoping to welcome Rachel Cusk to speak at this event, but she can no longer attend due to a family emergency.
This event is part of the Daunt Books Festival 2019.
The event will start at 10:30 and end at approximately 11:30.
