In 1969 John Julius Norwich created his first Cracker – a short collection of the funniest, strangest and most memorable things he had come across – as a Christmas treat for his friends. It rapidly turned into a huge word of mouth success and an annual tradition, as essential to the English Christmas as holly and mistletoe. When Lord Norwich died in 2018, he had almost finished his fiftieth and final Cracker and we are delighted to welcome his daughter Artemis Cooper joined by Antony Beevor to talk about it and some of the very best pieces from this rich seam of Crackers.
