Searching for the Lost Tombs of Egypt

Wednesday 7th August 2019 at 6:30pm  |  Daunt Books Hampstead

Where are the tombs of Alexander the Great or Cleopatra? Both rulers were buried in Egypt, but their tombs have never been found despite years of intensive research and excavation. Author Chris Naunton describes the quest for these and other great ‘missing’ tombs – those we know existed, but which have not yet been identified – and discusses key moments of discovery that have yielded astonishing finds.

Dr Chris Naunton is a distinguished Egyptologist, and has presented numerous television documentaries, including The Man Who Discovered Egypt (BBC4), Tutankhamun: The Mystery of the Burnt Mummy (Channel 4) and King Tut’s Tomb: The Hidden Chamber (Channel 5). He was the Director of the Egypt Exploration Society from 2012 to 2016, and in 2015 was elected President of the International Association of Egyptologists.
