An event with

John Harvey & Stella Duffy

In Conversation

Thursday 31st January 2019 at 6:30pm  |  Owl Bookshop

Please join us at the Owl Bookshop in Kentish Town on this very special occasion. Stella Duffy will be interviewing John Harvey about his final Frank Elder novel.

John Harvey was born in London, and now lives in Kentish Town, while considering Nottingham his spiritual home. Initially a teacher of English & Drama, he has been a full-time writer for more than forty years. The first of his 12 volume Charlie Resnick series, Lonely Hearts was selected by The Times as one of the ‘100 Best Crime Novels of the Century’ and the first Frank Elder novel, Flesh & Blood, won the CWA Silver Dagger in 2004.

Stella Duffy has written sixteen novels including Money in the Morgue, which HaperCollins published in March 2018. She was commissioned by Harper Collins to write Money in the Morgue, a novel started and abandoned by Dame Ngaio Marsh in the 1940s. Her latest Virago novel The Hidden Room is now out in paperback.

‘Body & Soul has Harvey’s trademark elegant prose, grounded and real characters, set at a hard, strong pace – all of it underscored with genuinely moving family love – and pain. Damn it made me cry!’ Stella Duffy
