Maoism: A Global History

Monday 8th April 2019 at 7:00pm  |  Daunt Books Marylebone

Renowned China specialist Professor Julia Lovell re-evaluates the power and appeal of Maoism as both a Chinese and an international force. Starting with the birth of Mao’s revolution in northwest China in the 1930s, tracing its influence through the Cold War and concluding with its violent afterlives in South Asia and resurgence in today’s China, this is a landmark history of global Maoism.

‘Lovell takes us on an exhilarating journey’ Christopher Coker in the Literary Review
