Agnès Poirier talks to Anne Sebba

Out of stock

Friday 16th March 2018 at 1:30pm  |  Daunt Books Marylebone

Agnès Poirier captures both the darkness of the occupation and the vivid colours of the intellectual and artistic outpouring that surged through the post-war city. Quiet wartime heroics are here, as are the sometimes violent passions, politics and ideas that later whirled around De Beauvoir and Sartre and coalesced in extraordinary art. Journalist Agnès Poirier skilfully draws together the disparate threads of so many extraordinary lives to show how Paris seemingly became the beating heart of all that was new, brave and controversial.

Anne Sebba, author of Les Parisiennes – How The Women of Paris Lived Loved and Died in the 1940’s joins Agnès in conversation.
