Viv Albertine was the guitarist in the hugely influential female punk band The Slits. A confidante of the Sex Pistols and the Clash, she collaborated with numerous musicians, including Adrian Sherwood, before marking out a career in television and film production. Her second memoir, To Throw Away Unopened, is a fearless examination of the truth about family, power, and her identity as a rebel and outsider. It follows on from her award-winning 2014 debut, Clothes, Clothes, Clothes, Music, Music, Music, Boys, Boys, Boys. Viv will be chatting about the book with literary journalist (and founder of Emily’s Walking Book Club) Emily Rhodes.
