Wednesday 10th May at 6:30pm | Daunt Books Hampstead | Tickets £5.00
We are delighted to welcome back Nicola Beauman, author of A Very Great Profession: The Woman’s Novel 1914-39, for a reprise of a sold-out talk she gave some years ago about the women writers who have lived in Hampstead. In the form of an imaginary walk round NW3 she will suggest, at a brisk pace, why they lived there and indeed why there were so many women writers during the inter-war years. Those mentioned will include May Sinclair, Amber Reeves, Elizabeth Jenkins (left), Daphne du Maurier and Penelope Fitzgerald. There will be a free hand-out listing the writers, their addresses and their books.
